Atlas Within ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Atlas Within mobile application (the "App").
The short version: Your birth data stays on your device. We do not sell your personal information. We only collect what's necessary to provide the service.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
- Birth Data: Date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth. This information is stored locally on your device using on-device storage and is used solely to calculate your Soulprint.
- Account Information: If you sign in using Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address as provided by those services. This is used to identify your account.
b) Information Collected Automatically
- Purchase Information: We use RevenueCat to process in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives transaction data from Apple/Google and provides us with anonymized subscription status. We do not directly handle payment information.
- Crash & Diagnostic Data: Standard crash reporting may be collected by Expo/React Native to help us improve app stability. This does not include your birth data or personal information.
c) Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect precise location data or GPS coordinates. Your birth city is geocoded on-device to latitude/longitude for astronomical calculations only.
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Birth data is used exclusively for Soulprint calculations (astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, numerology, Chinese zodiac). All calculations occur locally on your device.
- Account information is used to associate your purchases and allow you to access your Soulprint across sessions.
- Report generation: When you request a premium Soulprint report, your calculated results (system outputs, not raw birth data) are sent to our secure server to generate the report using AI. The generated report is stored on your device.
3. Data Storage & Security
- Birth data and Soulprint results are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.
- Account information is stored locally and used to link to your purchase history via RevenueCat.
- We use HTTPS for all server communications.
- We do not maintain a user database or backend servers storing your personal data.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: For authentication. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: For in-app purchase management. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): For generating premium reports. Report content (calculated system outputs) is sent via our secure proxy server. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- Expo / EAS: For app updates and build infrastructure. Subject to Expo's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information is only shared with the third-party services listed above, strictly as necessary to provide the App's functionality.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your data is stored on your device and visible in the app.
- Delete your data — uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. You can also sign out to remove your account association.
- Opt out of report generation — the premium report feature is entirely optional.
8. Data Retention
Since data is stored locally on your device, it persists until you uninstall the app or clear app data. We do not retain your birth data or Soulprint results on any server.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
